Whitchurch Weekender is a live music festival on the 4th and 5th July 2008, hosting a selection of acts throughout the weekend with 25% of the proceeds going towards the Whitchurch Local Hospital.

The event hopes to bring together the local community and inject some pride and vivacity to the area and creating a vibrant feel to the town. The event aims to incorporate and support as much local influence as possible whilst attracting quality live acts from all over the UK.

Friday 4th - Saturday 5th July 2008
On Friday 4th July @ the Caddyshack, 'The Local Agenda' showcases a variety of local talent with live music from TWO BASE HIT, WHOOPS APOCALYPSE and JOEY VANZETTI followed by an eclectic DJ set from CHRIS BRAYFORD. Upstairs will see three dance DJ sets from JAMIE MINSHALL, NIK TORRENS and a headline set from CRUMPY.
Saturday 5th July will see bands playing throughout the day in the official Whitchurch Weekender pub The Red Lyon, presenting live acts such as JOYCE from the Northwest @ 2pm and many more throughout the day until THE BIG AGENDA at the Civic Centre (Doors open 7.30pm). THE BIG AGENDA will finish Whitchurch Weekender off with a flourish of live acts at the Civic Centre. PARKA 'a must see live band' (Q Magazine) are headlining the bill with outstanding support acts from THE LINES, THE SHALLOW CALL and SLUMMIN ANGELS.
